How to Grant Collaborator Access to Referi

In some cases, our support team may need temporary access to your Shopify store to investigate an issue or help you configure Referi.

Shopify Collaborator Access is a secure way to let our team access only the areas needed for support without sharing your Shopify login credentials. You remain in control and can remove our access at any time.

Why does Referi need Collaborator Access?

Referi works with your Shopify store to manage referral programs, customer credits, referral links, and the Launcher displayed on your storefront.

When an issue requires a closer look, Collaborator Access allows our support team to check the relevant settings directly and identify the cause more accurately.

Depending on your support request, we may use this access to:

  • Check your Referi referral program settings and reward conditions
  • Investigate issues with referral links or credit rewards
  • Verify customer referral and credit activity
  • Check whether the Referi Launcher and app embed are working correctly on your storefront
  • Review relevant Shopify settings that may affect Referi
  • Help configure or troubleshoot Referi features

We only request the permissions necessary for your specific support case.

Before you begin

To send a collaborator request, please provide our support team with:

  • Your Shopify store URL, for example: your-store.myshopify.com
  • Your 4-digit Shopify Collaborator code

Once we receive these details, we'll send a collaborator request to your store.

Step 1: Find your Collaborator code

  1. Log in to your Shopify Admin.
  2. Go to Settings → Users.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • If your store is part of a Shopify organization, click Users.
    • Otherwise, click Users & permissions.
  4. Click Security.
  5. Under the Collaborators section, find your 4-digit Collaborator code.
  6. Copy the code and send it to our support team.

Step 2: Receive the collaborator request

After receiving your store URL and Collaborator code, the Referi support team will send a collaborator request to your store.

Shopify will notify you when the request is ready for review.

Step 3: Approve the collaborator request

  1. Go to Shopify Admin → Settings → Users.
  2. Open the pending collaborator request from Referi.
  3. Review the permissions requested by our team.
  4. Click Accept request.

Once approved, our support team can access the necessary areas of your store and begin investigating your issue.

Good to know

  • You never need to share your Shopify password with us.
  • Referi cannot access your store until you approve the collaborator request.
  • We only request permissions relevant to your support case.
  • Collaborator accounts don't count toward your Shopify user limit.
  • You can review or remove Referi's access at any time from Settings → Users.
